On the auspicious occasion of Guru Poornima (Teacher's Day) a special lecture on “Role of teacher in the present context” was delivered by Prof. V.B. Singh, Chairperson (coord.) ISU3A. He observed that present day is devoid of really good teacher which we had witnessed in old days. The event was graced by the presence of Prof. Mrs. Divya Prabha Nagar, Vice Chanceller, Rajasthan Vidyapeeth University.

A felicitation function of Smt Shanta Trivedi, a freedom fighter, a educationist and a senior citizen was organised by ISU3A Udaipur, Rajasthan.

A two-day workshop on ‘Sensitisation of Stakeholders in Implementation of the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007’ was organised by National Institute of Social Defence and Heritage Foundation.

For the benefit of senior citizens, efforts are on to extend the facility of helpline across the State and also introduce concessions in the APSRTC bus services, Commissioner for Disabled Welfare and Senior Citizens, Anitha Rajendran said here on Saturday. Two senior officials from the Police Department V.S.K. Kaumudi, CID IG (Economic Offences) and K.T.Ujela, Joint Commissioner (Security) participated in the meeting and assured all possible support for senior citizens.

At their monthly meet on 20th July Jnanajyothi U3A Bengaluru conducted a debate for high school students and capacity building project for elders. Students from ten neighbourhood schools argued for and against the topic "ELDERS ADVICE HAMPERS YOUTH'S PROGRESS". AMIT KASHYAP (Prarthana School), Rashmi.K Swamy (Ahalya bai school), Keerthana (JSS Public School), bagged the first three prizes and the Carmel School lifted away "MADURANATHAN'S ROLLING SHIELD"
